Black Culture Week (21.02 – 28.02) at RBC

“Today marks the start of Black Culture Week, a first for RBC. This initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the contribution of black people to the world via their culture, their activism, and individual identities. It is an opportunity to talk about ”blackness” without necessarily talking about struggle, inequality, and suffering. Although these aspects help shape the identity of black people and influence their experiences even today, they do not define them. The black experience is not limited to trauma. Our experience is more than our struggles: it is also joy, beauty and love. This is what we will be celebrating throughout this week with exhibitions, discussions, artistic performances as well as the Podcast produced by some students of the institution. We wish everyone an impactful and memorable Black Culture Week.” (Gil Joseph, Haiti, 2019-2021)
