Great news from @uwcmahindra 🥳
“WE’RE BACK #ONTHEHILL! The first in-person Wada meeting of the year happened yesterday with the first batch of freshly out of quarantine students!”
@ufra.mir graduated from @uwcmahindra in 2007, where she was the first Kahmiri to attend UWC having seen an advertisement for the scholarship opportunity in a newspaper. She went on to become the first peace-psychologist from Kashmir and South Asia, founding @paigaampeace

Carrying the motto “Transform Thinking, Transform Lives”, Ufra’s work has taken her back to Kashmir, as well as to different parts of India, South-Asia and the USA. In this #UWCImpactStory, Ufra shares her reflections on her journey so far, how she ended up in the field of peace-psychology, and the difficulties she continues to face as a woman working in peacebuilding in and outside Kashmir. Find the link in our story!

Want to know more about Ufra's work? You can get in touch with her directly via the UWC Hub Directory.
Join us in congratulating the winners of the 2020 UWC Photo Contest! 📸🥇

Thank you to all of you - short coursers, students, teachers & alumni - for your beautiful submissions. We particularly enjoyed reading the thoughtful reflections you shared about your pieces and how they relate to the 'United We Can’ Theme.

So, without further ado, we are delighted to announce the winners in both categories - two first year UWC students studying on two different continents:

Best photograph by Paz Ortiz (@uwcredcrossnordic, 2019-2021)

Exciting news coming from @uw@uwc_mostar!
Sonia Rawat has been appointed Head of #UWC Mostar starting in August 2021:
“I am incredibly honoured and humbled to be chosen as the next Head of UWC Mostar, a College that is so well placed to spread the UWC vision and make a difference to its community and the one that it is embedded in. I look forward to strengthening the College internally and consolidating a robust outreach programme with the amazing team and Dženan who has been a very able Acting Head in an extremely difficult time.”

We are also very happy Dženan Hakalovich, the current Interim Head, will remain in his position until the end of the academic year and will afterwards remain part of UWC Mostar as teacher.
