A project of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and UWC Germany

A UWC is not only based on the commitment of volunteers, but also on the support of partners who make the educational project possible. The Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH and UWC Germany have founded a non-profit limited liability company, Robert Bosch College UWC GmbH.
Both foundations are partners of the GmbH. Three committees steer the development of UWC Robert Bosch College: the shareholders’ meeting, consisting of representatives of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and UWC Germany, the board and the management of the school.

UWC Germany
Together with the Robert Bosch Stiftung, UWC Germany is a partner of Robert Bosch College UWC GmbH. Every year, the foundation based in Berlin offers around 50 young people from Germany the opportunity to spend the last two school years of secondary education at a UWC. Since its establishment in 1995, UWC Germany has been responsible for selecting applicants and funding the scholarships.
Focal points of the foundation’s work
In addition to fundraising, the foundation’s work also focuses on public relations, supporting the sponsored students and their parents and working with the Colleges and the international UWC organization. UWC International receives prominent support: Queen Noor of Jordan is President of the movement, and Nelson Mandela was Honorary President of the United World Colleges until his death in 2013. UWC Germany’s offices are located in Berlin. The work of the foundation is supported by around 80 volunteers, mainly UWC alumni.

Robert Bosch Foundation
The Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH is one of the largest corporate foundations in Europe. It is non-partisan and works independently in the areas of health, education and global issues. As a non-profit organization, it contributes to the development of sustainable solutions for social challenges. To this end, it maintains its own institutions, implements innovative projects, enters into partnerships and supports third-party initiatives.
Interdisciplinary exchange
The Foundation also supports interdisciplinary exchange between science, politics and society, promotes renowned think tanks in Germany and abroad, the development of non-partisan networks and evidence-based political decision-making. Since it was founded in 1964, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has spent almost 2.2 billion euros on its charitable work.
