Pads for Peace: Students run for a cause during the Freiburg Marathon
Supporting women in Sudan, helping to reduce period poverty
In conflict areas like Sudan, women face unimaginable challenges every day. One of the most urgent needs they face is access to basic hygiene products like sanitary pads. Without them, they are at risk of serious infections and health complications.
Staff and Students at UWC Robert Bosch College are participating in the Freiburg Marathon on April 7th, 2024, to raise awareness of this issue by collaborating with the NGO ‘Pads for Peace’. The campaign was initiated by our Sudanese student Nawbia, who has informed the school community about the war and the situation in her home country during our school assembly – more than 50 RBC students are now involved in the campaign, either running for a cause, preparing flyers or baked and hand-crafted items to sell during the Freiburg Marathon.
